Abstract Submission

All presenters will be required to attend in-person to make their Oral or Poster Presentations.

To participate in the conference “The Immune System: Friend or Foe” hosted by the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, all PhD students are required to submit an abstract.

Submission Guidelines:

  • All abstracts must be submitted in English.

  • Accepted abstracts will be compiled into an abstract book, which will be published and made publicly available on the conference website.

  • All presenters are required to bring a poster and present it during the designated poster session in the programme.

Important Information:

  • Abstract withdrawals must be submitted in writing to psj@cap-partner and are only valid once confirmed by the Conference Organisers.

  • The presenting author must register as an active participant no later than 7 days after receiving abstract acceptance.

Abstract Format

The abstract word limit is 250 words.

The title has a word limit of 20 words.

Names of authors may not be listed in the title or abstract text, as a “blind” review process will be used. You will be asked to enter the name(s) of author(s) and their affiliation(s), when you submit your abstract online.

The abstract must include the following:
Purpose: Clearly state the purpose of the abstract.
Methods: Describe your selection of observations or experimental subjects clearly.

Results: Present your results in a logical sequence in text, table and illustrations.

Conclusions: Emphasize new and important aspects of the study (perhaps as a discussion section) and the conclusions that are drawn from them.

Conflict of Interest: In order to allow attendees to judge potential bias from commercial interests, please indicate any potential conflicts of interest for each author.

Terms & Conditions for abstract submission

All PhD students are required to submit an abstract and present a poster to the Annual Meeting in Immunology and Infectious Diseases: The Immune System – Friend or Foe. Submission of your abstract constitutes agreement to the following terms:

  1. Publication and Accessibility
    Submitted abstracts will be compiled in an official Abstract Book, which will be available to all course participants via the website.
  2. Presentation Format
    Submitting a preference for an oral presentation does not guarantee selection. The final decision on presentation format (oral) lies with the course directors.
  3. Notification of Outcome
    You will receive notification from the course secretariat regarding whether your abstract has been selected for an oral presentation.
  4. Originality
    By submitting, you confirm that your abstract represents original work and that you have the rights to submit it for review and publication.
